This is the book Christians have been waiting for!

A book that strips away the fear, confusion, guilt and Doomspeak of the environmental dialogue and brings hope and clarity to the issue - as well as a new focus on our relationship with God.

it is, in fact ...

It's a completely different way of looking at the environmental issue. Fear, confusion, guilt and Doomspeak are not "of God", and in spite of almost 50 years of effort in a succession of areas - nuclear testing, pollution, toxic waste, climate change (man-made or no) - the Doomspeak keeps getting worse.

Like Chicken Little on steroids, don't you agree?

A Very Convenient Truth

is a

No Doomspeak Zone

The current concern about the environment - global warming, climate change, whatever you want to call it - has become a worldwide obsession. Public policy and business decisions are driven by it, billions of dollars each year are invested to try to fix it, and individuals and their families are affected by it.

But after half a century of concerted effort, the situation still seems to be getting worse.

Maybe the problem isn't the problem.

Maybe the problem is in the approach.

Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. (Ps. 127:1)

Could it be that the Lord hasn't been building this "house"?

After decades of "leaning on our own understanding" to find the solutions, let's remember Who created the earth and see what He has to say about it.

In A Very Convenient Truth, Drew Snider - Evangelist, former broadcaster and recipient of the 2001 Environmental Journalism Award from the Skies Above Foundation - takes readers on a "Bible journey" through the issue: what Scripture says about the environment, God's promises involving "the land" (2 Chr. 7:14), and even the good news that there is an "original sin".

Once we recognize that sin, Jesus' sacrifice at the Cross allows us to repent, have the "slate" wiped clean, and re-commit to that First Great Assignment (Gen. 1:26).

A Very Convenient Truth also offers suggestions for applying the Word of God to everyday environmental matters. "Green thinking" can be at odds with the Word of God, but He does tell us specific things to do, to take care of His Creation.

What is a Land Sabbath?

How does the principle of tithing apply?

Do we miss the boat when we believe that the "sacrifice" of reducing our "carbon footprint" is more important than the obedience of following in the footprints of God?

A Very Convenient Truth is thought-provoking for the individual, and can help a person find a new paradigm for the environmental discussion that is not based in fear and guilt. It also gives Christians a new "tool in the toolbox" for sharing Christ with others in the 21st Century.

Churches and small groups can find grounds for discussion, seeking other relevant Scripture passages for themselves and finding their own ways of applying God's Word. The message of A Very Convenient Truth is one of hope, reminding us how the Word of God is alive and applies to every aspect of our world today.
